THE LAKES :
THE LAKE OF SAINTE CROIX is a place not to be missed during your visit to the Gorges du Verdon. Formed following the construction of a large dam in the 70's, it is today the largest lake in the region. To discover it and its villages and to enjoy the beautiful views, we invite you to drive around the lake.
THE LAKE OF CASTILLON is perched at an altitude of nearly 900 m, it borders the villages of Saint-Julien-du-Verdon, and Saint-André-les-Alpes. The lake of Castillon is the second biggest lake in surface behind the lake of Sainte-Croix. It offers another facet of the diversity of the Verdon landscapes.
THE LAKE D'ALLOS, a little further up the mountain, is the largest natural lake in Europe in the heart of the Mercantour National Park, a real beauty spot.
THE LAKE D'ESPARON, in the lower gorges, is one of the wildest of the Verdon with its many creeks and cliffs, its turquoise waters, its gorges.
THE LAKE OF QUINSON extends over 11 km between the downstream of the gorges of Baudinard and the low gorges. It is in fact a succession of small wild lakes intersected by the Quinson dam. It is the least touristy.
